About the Artist & Artwork

About the Artist

Tracy Sands is a Christian artist and author, and a self-proclaimed “Jesus Freak”, who loves God, Art and Family.  She created the artwork in 1999 and then in 2012, authored a book by the same name, The Christian Alphabet Book.  She brings her passion for art and for Christ, using the letter art to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a unique and interactive way.  She lives in Peachtree City, GA with her husband, and perhaps her greatest works of art, her 3 sons Chase, Gabe and Adam. Here is the story of how The Christian Alphabet ™ came to be…

“It came from Him, not me. This is what happened:

The Lord inspired me in 1999 one evening at a church choir event. As I sat in the dark in the back row listening to the awesome Christian music, an incredible urge to draw came over me. Having been an art teacher for 10 years, I had experienced this feeling before, but NEVER had it been so intense. I “happened” to have a pen in my pocket, but the only paper around me was the program that I received as I walked in the door. In the empty space of the margins, I sketched like crazy. I felt as if I would pop if I didn’t get the ideas out of my brain right then! I will never forget that feeling. I had never felt so peaceful, yet energized at the same time. God was just getting started with me! Over the course of the next nine months, we created this alphabet.

Each letter has educational and deep meaning to me. Within each letter, you will find ancient and modern images used in the past 2000 years to express the Christian Faith. I have hopes of sharing all of the basic aspects of Christianity with those who really look into “The Christian Alphabet.” (There is a word in each letter and many symbols that you might find if you take the time to focus on them.)

Special thanks to my husband, Albert, my mother, Elaine, and my sisters, Tammy and Jenn, for their help and encouragement; however; Jesus Christ is my true inspiration. Without Him, I could not have created The Christian Alphabet as my way to share the gospel with you.”

About the Art Work

The Christian Alphabet™ was created by Christian artist and author, Tracy Sands. The artwork was originally hand-drawn in 1999 and is meant to be a unique and interactive way to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was then digitized and colored, to be able to create original prints as personalized Christian gifts.  The Christian Alphabet™ now hangs in thousands of Christian homes, all over the world, in the form of our personalized name art prints. In a world that needs more God and more love, our purpose is to make God and his message of faith, hope and love, more talked about, more thought about, and more known. We desire to teach people the basics of Christianity by using the deep, rich history, symbology and meaning within The Christian Alphabet™ artwork. We will promote, sell, and spread The Christian Alphabet™ and prayerfully pursue a profitable business so that the artwork, and it’s message, can reach as many people as possible around the world.Love From Above, ~Tracy Sands

Did you know?

  • There are more than 100 Christian symbols used within the alphabet. Some of these symbols date back to the origins of Christianity.
  • If you look closely, you’ll see that every letter of the alphabet has a word associated with it that is part of its design. A is for Always, Z is for Zion, etc.
  • There is also a Bible verse associated with each letter.
  • The associated words of the first 3 letters of the The Christian Alphabet™ instill the most basic principle of Christianity: “Always” – “Believe” – in – “Christ” – ABC! It is also our logo tagline!
  • One of the “G” letters represents creation and symbolizes God, one of the “O” letters is the crown of thorns symbolizing Jesus, and one of the “D” letters is the dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Together, GOD represents the Most Holy Trinity!
  • The Christian Alphabet™ was sold originally for many years in only a black and white/gray-tones version.
  •  We give a portion of our sales, annually, to a new charity each year.  See below for our list of charities.
